Collaborations in Action

In December of 2016 Lighthouse Counseling and Family Resource Center toured the renewal center at Acres of Hope and in early 2017 started a collaboration offering services at their site.
Lighthouse visited all residents and conducted assessments.  Based on the results and preferences of each family, Lighthouse is providing the following services:
  • Weekly counseling services
  • Diaper Assistance (as needed)
  • Car Seats (as needed)
  • Love & Logic Parenting Classes weekly
  • Housing and Employment information as needed for clients transitioning out
  • Back to School assistance (late summer)
All of these services are provided free of charge and at their site.  Lighthouse has two staff assigned to Acres of Hope:
  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with additional certifications in AOD (Alcohol and Other Drugs) and SAP (Substance Abuse Professional)
  • Family Support Specialist with a bachelor’s in Social Work
It is our goal that through these additional services, residents at Acres of Hope increase the protective factors for a more stable and independent family life, and feel more confident as they transition out of the program.

Auburn Interfaith Food Closet is engaged in two collaborations, one with Meals on Wheels by ACC and the other with Seniors First; in these collaborations, these two agencies are identifying seniors within their client bases where the food they provide is not sufficient for the needs of the household. We have instituted a program where their driver pools add to this by taking food from our resources for an additional nine meals for each person in the residence.
